*sh yáa.awudanéiyi*
master of what matters, word worker
standing naked in public, stirring up trouble
wearing his heart on the outside,
his feet deep in the earth, his hands like ravens,
his mouth near your ear
every breath a prayer, even when he’s causing a disturbance,
polishing truth til it gleams like a nugget in the stream,
messenger of consciousness in the ceremony of memory,
gunalchéesh! gunalchéesh!
we shiver when you whisper.
